Atlantic Connexion

XY 2025 was a powerful gathering of nearly 1100 men across the Atlantic region from Maine to Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and everywhere in between! An honourable mention to the five men who came from Solid Rock Wesleyan (Peter Hayes) on the Avalon Peninsula.

  • Kings (Brent Ingersoll) has provided leadership for this annual and rapidly growing Men’s Conference and this year marked the second time it was hosted by Tidal (Jim Clements) in Moncton. The worship, the breakout sessions, the food, the manly activities, the new friendships formed, the preaching of The Word, and ESPECIALLY the Spirit’s presence and transforming work were deeply engaged by all those present. So many stories of transformed lives as men returned to their families and churches with renewed passion for the Kingdom.

Don’t delay registering for next year’s XY Conference as it may sell out at this location! Plan now to get this on your calendar and promote it early with your men.

Local Church Updates

  • Congratulations to Assistant Pastor Angela Love as she has just joined the staff of Live Well Community with Lead Pastor Tim Long – welcome to the team!
  • It was announced this Sunday at Hartland Wesleyan that Jamin (Naomi) Melanson will be candidating on April 13th as the next Lead Pastor.
Atlantic DBMD Interviews
Chair Dale MacDonald (Woodstock Wesleyan) convened the DBMD this Wednesday to conduct 24 interviews with those in process of affirming their call to vocational ministry. This high-order Kingdom service included 16 pastors and lay leaders from our Atlantic Tribe – we are grateful for your wisdom and influence in this mission critical work!
  • One of the newest candidates who is recommended to be granted standing as a Ministerial Student at District Conference in July shared this edited and abbreviated testimony of her calling to be a pastor…
“It was actually during Beulah Family Camp! I was probably about 15 and had dreams of becoming a famous author, but one morning while I was listening to the Kingswood band leading us all in worship, I got a strong impression that that is what God wanted for me— a life of ministering like they were doing, a life dedicated to Him. And I hated it. That’s not what I wanted! I didn’t want to give up on my dreams; I wanted to make a name for myself. So I resisted for a bit.
  • That same week, the pastor preaching in the evening brought in a boat and called us all to step forward and touch the boat if we were willing to trust God and take risks in our life for him—at least that was the basic gist of it. So I did and I told God that I was willing to go where He wanted me to. Now, I wouldn’t trade this calling for the world!”
Don’t Miss This Exciting Evening!

As Kingswood University prepares to welcome a new President this summer, we are excited about the opportunity to share in an evening of appreciation for the decadal leadership of President & Mrs. Lennox on April 11th @ 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome as it will be a celebratory standing stone in the history of our beloved university. Hope to see you on Friday evening!

As Chair of our KU Board of Trustees, it was my privilege last week to meet with President-Elect Rick Christman. He has been engaging in partnership with President Steve Lennox in a reciprocal spirit of Romans 12:10 as they prepare to pass the baton of leadership on July 1st. We are so blessed to be led by such high-calibre and experienced Kingdom leaders!

The Church Multiplication Collective (CMAD Director of Multiplication Jesse Pratt) and 600+ Wesleyan multipliers had a great time in Orlando, FL last month for Exponential 2025.

Marketplace Discipleship Conference
Plan now to attend the Marketplace Disciple Maker Conference from Monday evening (July 7th) to Wednesday morning (July 9th) during Beulah Family Camp 2025. This transformative event will guide pastors and lay leaders through a practical process to equip lay leaders for effective disciple-making within our local contexts. This is a free event hosted by the Atlantic District of The Wesleyan Church. Registration is required for the Tuesday afternoon and the Meet ‘n’ Mingle Networking Sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
Beulah is humming with activity as we prepare for the return of our seasonal agreement holders, guests, and large group events. Annual and deferred maintenance work is well underway, including the refurbishment of the public washrooms in the Trailer Park.
  • Plan now to join the staff, Beulah Session of the Camp Board (pictured above in our spring meeting this week), and regular volunteer team members on Saturday, May 10th to help us make even more progress on getting our house in order for an exciting summer!
Coffee will be ready in the dining hall for an 8:30 am start. A delicious dinner will be served for lunch. Please help us prepare for this day by registering in advance with bookings@beulahcamp.com. It’s going to be an exciting day – don’t miss out!

  • Beware the soul sucking voice of reasonableness. We need men who celebrate like they have been set free from death. (Jon Tyson)
  • No one can live without delight and that is why a man deprived of spiritual joy goes over to carnal pleasures. (Thomas Aquinas)
  • Confidence is not a prerequisite to taking action…it’s a result. The journey starts with a single step—not with thinking about taking a step. (Jeff Olson)

Caton’s Island Camp Registration has been open for several weeks – camps are filling up fast! CLICK HERE to check out the full summer schedule – register ASAP to ensure there is still space at the best week(s) for your family this summer.

With the weather turning warmer we are looking forward to getting Caton’s Island up and running for another exciting season of camping ministry. Getting the Island ready is no small task and there is no end to projects that need to be done. We are so grateful to the church and individuals that continually step up and come alongside us to help further this impactful ministry.
  • Last year we held our first spring dinner fundraiser and were overwhelmed by the support as the funds were needed to help repair major winter damage. It was also a great opportunity to be able to see the island early on in the season. This year we will celebrate the 30th summer of Director Dean Stephenson’s leadership – an incredible gift to the ministry of Caton’s Island to impact thousands of families in our region with the Gospel – congratulations, Dean!
We invite you to join us this year on Saturday, May 24th @ 4:00 pm for our second spring dinner. This key event will help greatly as we move into the summer camping ministry. If you have any questions or need more information please email the camp at campoffice@catonsisland.com.
